Sanctity of Life Sunday

Jan 22, 2017 Sunday AM
Proverbs 14:26-27

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is an annual reminder that God values human life in all stages from conception to natural death. This i not a personal or political issue. The value of human life is a moral absolute and the implications are far-reaching.

At the core of this problem is "autonomy"

The way of Life...means

  1. We have convictions about these matters. We hold that all human life is sacred because we are made in the image of God.
  2. We must reserve sexual activity for marriage between a man and a woman. Sex before marriage is sin.
  3. We must receive un-wed mothers in love.
  4. We must provide healing opportunities for women (and men) who have experienced the trauma of abortion.
  5. We must denounce all forms of dehumanization...contempt for the poor, child abuse, pornography, slavery, abortion, euthanasia, etc. As followers of Jesus we should be on the front end of that which is truly humanitarian.
  6. We must provide homes for unwanted children through foster care, orphan care and adoption.
  7. We must support agencies at home and abroad that promote the sanctity of human life. Alpha Family Center and agencies like Life International are on the front lines in this initiative.
  8. We must cooperate with others of like conviction on this matter regardless of tradition.
  9. We must be pro-women. Women are victims in abortion, pornography, sex-trafficking and abuse. All are symptoms of the devaluation of women.
  10. We must not cease to preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God. God wants us to experience the way of life now and into eternity. The power of Jesus' death and resurrection has provided an opportunity for the forgiveness of sins.
