Many of you hear me talk on Sundays and may even say “hi” to me at some point but how well do you know me? Do you know how I like my eggs in the morning? Do you know what coffee I like the best? Do you know what tea I drink in the evening? Do you know what book/books I’m currently reading? Other than reading or hunting, do you know what I like to do when I am not working? Do you know why I named our Jeep Wrangler “Little Blackie?” Does it really matter if you know the answers to those questions? NO! It is much more important that you know God! Jesus said, “Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” You can live perfectly well without a knowledge of my idiosyncrasies but you cannot live well without a knowledge of God. What if He were to ask you, “How well do you know Me?” Is He knowable? Given the content of the 66 Books of The Book I would say a resounding yes! The Immortal, Invisible, Only-Wise God has disclosed enough of Himself to keep a human learning for a long time. God wants to be known. His ways are knowable. To know Him is eternal life. I hope to see you on Sunday for a brief lesson about His ways.
