John Lennon wrote it, the Beatles sang it, it sounds really good!  "All you need is love, love, love is all you need."  I wish it was that simple.  Love is only simple until you add...people.  When we add people to the equation, things get a little bit complex.  Some people are hard to love.  There are many people to love; family members, neighbors, needy people, lost people, people here and people there, people we know and people we don't know yet and we are to love them all!  Understanding the complexity of love, Paul wrote to the Philippians, "And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ..."  October 17 we'll be studying the new commandment in John 13:34 and considering whether it is actually possible to do what Jesus said or not.  It seems like a pretty tall order for mortals .  What do you think?
